I'll be blogging this week for The Best American Poetry website. Below you'll find my first installment. It's been a delight to write these pieces, and I'm very glad to have had the opportunity.

![]() Many thanks to Bayou for including my story, So Very Nice, in their latest issue. It's the story of a fall festival. I'm so fond of them, I'm afraid there might be many more where this one came from. Contributors, excellent work. Editors, well done. And look at that cover: disturbing, Victorian, beautiful. One couldn't want it any other way. A delight to be on Moon City's short list. Congrats, all!
All congrats to the students who participated in Enter Stage Write!
It was beautiful, seeing it all come together last Saturday at the Hoffner. But it might have been even better to see the words, the possibilities, and the courage build up over the last several weeks. Many thanks to WordPlay for letting me tag along for the ride, and to the many students and coaches who made it all so enlightening and inspiring. If you ever find yourself in Cincinnati, consider devoting a few hours a week to WordPlay. Or, if you're only passing through, make a stop in Northside to buy a t-shirt from the Urban Legend Store, and to grab some Yeehaw BBQ from Melt. ![]() The latest issue of The Literary Review is out and circulating through the literary system. The Tides: Because tomorrow morning, it starts all over again. It is, cover to cover, a beautiful issue. If you can, take the time to read Jena Salon's Editor's Note. It is a lovely opening to the work. I'm very glad that my story, Love Me, and the World Is Mine, has a place in it. Many thanks to all at The Literary Review, for such a wonderful issue. ![]() Many thanks to This Is Not Porn for gathering these photos of Hemingway. What would this winter have been like without knowing that Hemingway occasionally took a steam bath? Dreary, I tell you. Perhaps, if I develop a doctorate next month, I will head down to Key West and visit him. If I develop pneumonia instead, I still might visit. And its cover is gorgeous--by the impressive Carrie Ann Baade.
Inside, you'll find the work of several talented Surrealists, as well as my strange little story, Your Daughters Will Prophesy. Outstanding work, Zymbolists! Am honored to have been a finalist for this. All congrats to David R. Slavitt, and to the rest of The Finalist Crew.
